You can do it from either the client (XP) or server (Solaris). The easiest way is to use wireshark. You can download a copy (google it).
Just before before you do the directory listing operation (eg a refresh on Explorer or ls on cmd prompt ) select the client's IP address from the <capture><interfaces> menu and select <start>. When the operation is finished select <stop>. Save the data to file and send us that file. This will allow us to see which protocol requests are being made, the values being sent in the request, and what we're responding with.
