Hi,

I am trying to set up correct video format settings
for ouput to be suitable for standard 4/3 PAL TV.

The problem is that even I choose 720/576 canvas size
and 4:3 aspect ratio, the output seems to be of proper
size and aspect (checked with tcprobe), but the video
has 2 horizontal black bars (top and bottom) like in
16:9 video displayed on 4/3 TV.

Any ideas why this happens. Maybe I use some incorrect
settings?

Are the video files really PAL, not NTSC? NTSC has
fewer horizontal lines, which would leave black bars
on a 576 lines tall canvas.

Did you set the format before or after you loaded the
video files? Try right-clicking on the video track and
"set track size" to 720x576. I have had to do that many
a time. Is that a feature or a bug?
