Okay I hope I grasped what you wished me to try correctly.
I created a new shell script cine_render2.sh as follows:
#/usr/bin/bash
cat > /dev/null
yuvplay
And I called the script in File>Render>YUV4MPEG> spanner icon > Use pipe
using the command
~/cine_render2.sh %
The output under gdb follows but first I will let you know the other
experiments. I tried to render a blank project (with the original shell script)
and was successful. This doesn't fully support your hypothesis about broken dv
files because the same files containing the dv footage would someimtes render
and sometimes not (now not at all). Yet the dv files had not changed.
I tried the experiment rendering blank footage with mpeg2enc and was unsuccesful
in this case. I got a whole host of different errors (I know some of these
relate to known issues with parameter passing). I will report further on these
experiments in next comment.
