Now that we have the wiki on a stable platform, My next goal is to keep the wiki as updated as possible.
My first idea is to keep tabs with the mailing list & IRC channel to capture and digest the information being spread in there. This being a community effort, It would be great if the people who ask for help, and gets their issues resolved, would then update the wiki to reflect the solution. Also, as the wiki grows with new info .. the various languages translations are getting behind. If anyone has the language skills and wants to help.. please be my guest! FYI: I can handle the English & Spanish versions.. French, Italian & Slovenian are way out of my reach. If anyone is interested on translating it to any another language, please let me know and we can coordinate to leverage the existing images & formats to make the translation work much easier. On the importance of the wiki: ------------------------------- With the explosion of video on the web, the need for a video editing solution on Linux is here and growing. Demand being here, the main obstacles to a wide distribution of Cinelerra are the installation and usability issues the we are all familiar with. The first issue , installation, is currently being tackled by various distributions making it much easier to achieve. On the second issue, it would be great to have a re-designed, beautifull, intuitive UI... but we know that it would require a whole lot of work and involve much more developer time that what is available now. Re-design of the UI not being on the table at this point, I seriously believe that good documentation can do wonders to mitigate the usability issues that new cinelerra users encounter. Anyway, I hope this motivates users (specially us who cant't code in C) to collaborate with the documentation project. Thx alx. _______________________________________________ Cinelerra mailing list [email protected] https://init.linpro.no/mailman/skolelinux.no/listinfo/cinelerra
