No where in this thread have I seen the following suggestion. On my machine,
DV capture w/ Kino never works till I issue the following as root:
* modprobe raw1394
* modprobe ohci1394
* modprobe video1394 - this last one only seems necessary to export edited
video back onto the tape.
This comes from the Kino howto at http://www.robfisher.net/video/kino.html
Some of this is a bit outdated, but the above commands are absolutely
necessary before I can capture.
Just a thought - I apologize if it's already been mentioned and I missed it.
