I have a bunch of recordings of people using a computer mouse, and I want to look at trends in mousing location. If you want to know why, read this: http://www.scribd.com/doc/128875/Effect-of-the-Number-Pad-on-Mousing-Location-Plan .
I didn't place any sort of markers on the subjects, and I was originally planning on analyzing the recordings manually, but I'm wondering whether there's any software, preferably something free and open source, that can help at all. The mouse itself can serve as a pretty clear marker, so is there's any way I can use software to track a sharp line like those on a mouse. And if Cinelerra can do it, what functions should I look at? This probably isn't the best list to be asking, but I don't really know much about video editing. I'd also be interested in any suggestions of a better place to post this. Thomas Levine
