the red format is a quicktime wrapped propriety wavelet based raw (as in raw slr formats) codec called redcode raw. i doubt there is a chance of support in linux very soon, although they have mentioned it coming down the line.

the workflow that might be usable in cinelerra is to export the footage as an image sequence from their redcine or redalert and then do editing from there on in cinelerra. re editing image sequences help me out here cinelerra users as im hanging out here mostly for my interest for lumiera and have little experience with the former.
