Hi Nicolas,
Just as I had finished speaking about having no problems with the ATrpms
repo, I believe I encountered one during a long editing session over the
weekend.

What happened was that after about an hour or less of editing
operations, Cinelerra would hang on playback, the audio would freeze at
that moment but continue to sound, and the timeline would continue
running. Initially, I thought this was related to my sound card, an
external USB device (MAudio MobilePre). I switched to an internal card,
but the error still occurred. So, reflecting on what you said about
ATrpms, I decided to bite the bullet, rip out the ATrpms related
dependencies and install RPMFusion.

Minor pain ensued, but I was able to compile Cinelerra using the Fusion
deps. Sure enough, the hang-audio freeze problem went away. So thank
you for recommending the repo.

I do notice one problem, though. As an easy intermediate format to
export and then import back into Cinelerra, I used to use Quicktime for
Linux container with:
* JPEG or MJPEG photo video codec
* twos complement audio codec

This seems to be broken. I tested a number of formats against external
players as well as reimporting back into Cinelerra. Disturbingly, none
reimport back into Cinelerra. To say again, I previously could reimport
the libquicktime created .mov with jpeg and twos complement or mp3 audio
back into Cin. Now I can't. Here is the chart of my results:

Have you noticed that exporting/rendering compatibility has degraded in
your Fedora 10 install?
