Hi all,

Quite a while ago already, I noticed a peculiar problem with the
brightness in the Compositor window: during playback, or when clicking
one frame forward, the brighness is fine; yet when I stop playback, or
click Frame Reverse, the brightness increases by a significant amount.

This is a bit annoying, especially when applying brightness and colour
filtering -- I always have to click "Frame Forward" after stopping
playback to make sure I see the correct brightness.

These brightness variations are also clearly visible in screenshots:
http://www.linetec.nl/linux/cin1_ok.png is the correct brightness, as
shown after clicking de "Frame forward" button.
http://www.linetec.nl/linux/cin2_wrong.png shows the display when I
click "Frame Reverse".

This appears to be machine-specific; it only happens on an AMD Athlon 64
X2 3800+ machine where I compiled Cinelerra with OpenGL support. And it
only affects the compositor window; the rendered result is just fine.

Further information:
Cinelerra's preference window with all relevant settings:
http://www.linetec.nl/linux/cin3_prefs.png
Linux distribution: Mandriva 2008.1, 64-bit
Project: a DV file, imported in Kino
Graphics card: nVidia (I'd have to look up exact type)

Does anyone know what could cause this?

Thanks in advance, best regards,

Richard Rasker
