Hi! Thank you to all the people that replied to my desperate message. Now that the shock is over I can come back to my problem.
I'm afraid it was all my fault. I think I misunderstood the behaviour of the "to clip" button: it doesn't save a selected piece of timeline, but rather just the part of selected timeline that is *on armed tracks*.
