Which cinelerra version are you uing? 1:2.1.5-0.16~ppa1~natty2 (cinelerra) I figured out what happened. In the particular case where I was trying to create a .dv file it was from an input file for video converted from 16mm motion picture film, so it had no sound tracks. I added two tracks and it worked OK. I tried some other files and they seemed to work OK (sort of). IMO below Tom'S tip using kino is one of the best way to convert .dv into the best format you need, > I usually do my rendering from Kino; just load up the .dv file(s) that you > get from Cinelerra and render out to whatever. Kino has some good, apparently > sane, templates for output. I tried this. It is great for doing frame-by-frame editing. However, I find that the "play" function causes the movie to go too fast in Kino. Is there a setting to make it go in slow motion? I wish that there was a control like that on Avidemix. further tip: take care packet mencoder is installed It is > Tom King Vale
