this brings up horrible memories of having to connect two routers together
using 2 x 10M half-duplex links and using ospf weighting to get TX running
down one link and RX down the other. I.e. synthesised virtual 10M full
duplex. Ghetto, but when there's no budget to buy more routing gear...
