In some part of network we have more than one link between two neighboring routers, as I noted in previous answer. More over, in some case closest (topological) link is not considered best path due to fees, delay, etc... So we use per-interface next-hops in explicit paths instead of router-id's. :)
Because if that's not the case, than you can use loopback ip addresses of A and B -rather than A's and B's interface address to dictate an explicit path for te-tunnels. adam
