Yes, the wrong Product ID turned out to be the reason for the problem.
The first two SFP+'s reported Product ID as like of double quotes (").
The Cisco lookalike works fine.
Initially I had also problems with the Cisco stamped one as well. The
reason turned out to be that while testing different SFP+'s I had
managed to dismount the FourX adapter, too. (Note to self: tighten the
screws even a little bit even while testing.) As a sidenote can also be
mentioned that during the testing I managed to try two SFP+'s both of
which had broken RX side.
