I wholeheartedly agree. I'm just starting out in the industry and having seen some CCIE practice questions, I wonder why this is such an accomplishment for some. The written is not that much harder than the CCNP tests (someone with a few weeks and good books on their hands can pass the written). Lets remember that there are less than 7000 CCIEs worldwide. 1700 people may pass the written , but its unlikely that more than 2-3 % take or pass the written within one year.
