You make a good point. Nobody even used "full duplex" and "Ethernet" in the same sentence in 1994. ;-) The only people who even used the word "full duplex" at all were old timers who remembered half-duplex 2-wire circuits from like the 60s or 70s or something. Once in a while we had to mention it to explain obsolete Telnet options. >We've still got a few hundred NP-2Es working just fine, >thank you. > >When did the standards for full duplex come out? At first, full duplex Ethernet was in the 802.3x spec, which came out in 1997. Since then it has gotten merged into 802.3. > (That's an honest >question, not a rhetorical one - I don't know the answer) > >JMcL >----- Forwarded by Jenny Mcleod/NSO/CSDA on 24/05/2002 09:50 am ----- > > >"sam sneed" >Sent by: [EMAIL PROTECTED] >24/05/2002 04:46 am >Please respond to "sam sneed" > > > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > cc: > Subject: Re: setting spped and duplex on cisco 4700 IOS 11 >[7:44844] >Is this part of a business decision process?: > > >Thanks alot. >I can't believe it can't run full duplex. >Piece of sh*t!!!!!!!!! > > >""M.C. van den Bovenkamp"" wrote in message >[EMAIL PROTECTED]">news:[EMAIL PROTECTED]... > > sam sneed wrote: > > > > > I'm trying to force an interface to 10 MB full duplex on a 4700 >router. > > > > No can do, unless it's an NP-2E-FDX.
