The downside to that is setting up DNS and all of the other packages
required.  Kinda makes it hard to make a box as lean as possible.   Maybe I
am confused as to what needs to be done, but my Qmail server was/is a pain
to setup to send email properly and not have any issues (DNS, SPF, and
DomainKeys).  Would be nice to let this box use that installation.

Not sure.  Like with other php apps that can use mail, i usually end up
building an mta locally for the webserver to speak to.
