Dear All, Thanks to all involved for setting up this list (and thanks to Rob for the vihuela list as well, where I'm a lurker).
I neither own nor play a cittern, but I'm intrigued by some of the variants - the six-course cittern required for Kargel's book (do any survive?), the ceterone (ditto), and the Corsican cittern which I have heard on visits to Corsica. I wonder whether the modern Corsican 8c cittern is a descendant of an instrument brought over by the Genoans in the 16th C? I don't even know the tuning of the Corsican cittern, but I'm going there again in May so I may be able to find out... Best wishes, Martin To get on or off this list see list information at http://www.cs.dartmouth.edu/~wbc/lute-admin/index.html
