Sounds like I'm in good company. I also have an EMS kit that I built a =
couple of years ago, with a number of modifications suggested by Ken, =
among others (ramped frets, in particular). It plays fairly well, but =
I'm also currently building a second, this time from scratch. I hope to =
avoid some of the mistakes I made with the kit.

I'm currently playing it in three different settings: a broken consort, =
accompanying singers, and an occasional Ren dance band that plays at =
local SCA events (I alternate between cittern and serpent for this =
group, depending on the piece, which makes for an interesting contrast).

I'd be curious if there is any easy/intermediate solo music out there. =
I've mostly been just improvising from a bass line, plus a few of the =
Morley consort lessons. What I've seen of published solo music =
(Robinson, Holborne, ...) tends to be a bit over my head right now. I =
could use something a bit less challenging to help develop my technique.
