I know that my fonts don't have the characters, but perhaps it is supposed
to be so. I don't know if the Arphic fonts have these characters.
Here are the messages in the log file:

Missing character: There is no � in font gbsnu4e!
Missing character: There is no 8 in font gbsnu53!
Missing character: There is no v in font gbsnu76!
Missing character: There is no � in font gbsnu8f!

Missing character: There is no � in font bsmiu4e!
Missing character: There is no 8 in font bsmiu53!
Missing character: There is no v in font bsmiu76!
Missing character: There is no � in font bsmiu8f!

Other than that, I can typeset simplified and traditional Chinese
without any problems.
