Charlene,
I always give my bitches every chance to whelp naturally at home and only
had 1 c-section after long hours of labor, vet checked after she stated
delivering in the car, and the vet helped her with a DOA puppy that we could
not bring around. She then got a shot to help with contractions and would
hopefully deliver the rest naturally within the next hour.He said the
c-section would be necessary to save any puppies but more importantly, to
save her life. It was not meant to be, sadly I had her spayed while under
for a c-section because I wanted to keep only natural whelpers in my breed
program. It was in her best interest anyway because her first natural
whelping was extremely long and 2 out of 4 were DOA. She is my first
cavalier and rules the home with joy, excitement and TLC for all dogs and
even the cats!
