Is there anyone out there that can advise of this problem?
Had a call from a Cavalier owner that was looking for answers.
Bitch is very aggressive with people.
Here is a little background.
Bitch is 5. Lives in home with Man & Wife with their 4 year old child.
Wife works out of the home and is with the dog all the time.
Bitch loves all of them to death and is the sweetest dog on earth with them. Loves
the little child.
This bitch is only aggressive with certain people. People at the kennel where the dog
is boarded at on occasion can't believe what the owner is saying because the dog is
never that way at the kennel. Neither is that way with the Vet. Dog loves the Wife'
sister and Father also.
Another problem is barking and growling at the fence with the neighbors large dog.
That problem was solved with spraying the dog with water which she responded to very
well and stops the behavior when the hose is picked up.
Dog is taken for walks occasionally and pulls the leed and doesn't walk a straight
line. Dog barks and growls uncontrollably when it comes upon a person or other dog.
This dog was taken to obedience school when it was under a year old. Owner says that
they didn't flunk but wasn't the best.
I suggested obedience school again. Also suggested having a spray bottle with her
always on walks and in the house and rewarding the dog when it obeys the reprimand.
Owner's Vet wants her to take the dog to an Animal behaviorist which they are
contemplating. Cost is making them think twice but probably will end up doing it.
Does anyone have any ideas for working on this problem?
