For the entire summer two years ago, I bought fence after fence to stop Sarah
from jumping over. I went from 36" to 42" to 48" to 60"and finally to 72".
Plus, I left the last 3 fences in place but just added the higher ones. (this
left little room for toe holds). She learned she could not make it over a 6'
fence. ILast summer I replaced much of the wire fencing with lattice fencing
which has a little wabble to it so she can not get a toe hold on it eather.
She no longer tries. By the way, I also bought an electronic wire, but to my
great joy, did not have to install it. But if she got over the 6' fence she
would next have to get over an electric fence. Yes, I thought it might be a
little harsh on Sarah to give her a shock. BUT BETTER AN ELECTRIC SHOCK than
a car fender.
When it came time to train Josephine, I simply let fer know I did not like
her trying to jump over even a 3' fence. Although she can actually jump over
three feet from a standing position, she "agreed" not to. She is such a good
little girl, that she simply said ... "OK, daddy, I'll do what ever will
make you happy." LOL
All the best to those of you with JUMPERS.
