Kim, my daughter told me about it and what files to look for. The readme.exe
is not the same as the readme.txt file. I used my Norton Utilities to help
get my computer cleaned up, but it takes more than that.

Go to Norton's website and download there nimda tool kit program. Run that.
Follow whatever directions the program says to do. Update your Norton
antivirus (the new update has the signature for nimda). Enable Norton email
scan in the Norton config. settings. Download the patch from Microsoft and
run that to fix Windows so you won't pick up the virus from a website. Then
I ran regclean, a little program from microsoft that my son-in-law gave me.
I think that you can download it from microsoft.

To finish, I ran the Symantec (Norton) nimda tool fixit again to make sure
the system was clean.
I found the stuff that I used above by doing a search for it at
www.google.com. I would type in "microsoft and patch and virus" to get the
website for the download, and "Norton and virus" to find the website for
Norton. To update Norton, they have a menu item in the Norton program so all
you have to do is be online, minimize your browser, click on Norton and
click on the update menu item.

It is best to take care of this because if the virus stays on your computer,
it will eventually corrupt every program and shut the whole thing down.
All the best,
Susan Cochran
