I have an 11 year old bitch who was continually lame on one of her front legs. She could get on furniture but couldn't get off easily, yelping if she did, presumably because the impact on her front leg was painful.
Initially, I tried her on veterinary medicine but this seemed to make little difference. About 3 months ago, I bought some Glucosamine Sulphate capsules from our Health Food shop. She has 1 capsule sprinkled on her food each day. I'm pleased to say that she has improved greatly. She does not show lameness at all and can get on and off the furniture easily - well - as easily as a fat 11 year old can!!
