Peggy, Will only relay comments put to me at AKC shows. The American breds (not referring to the dog show class) look like "pieces put together from different dogs" with the label, Cavalier, then put on. They do not look like a coordination of features found in type to type breeding for several generations. These Cavaliers have also been called "the American composite" vs. the English type. Ours often stand away from others at shows as we are in the minority with the English type. I hope we never loose it. I cannot speak for Cavaliers in other parts of the country as I simply do not know who is breeding what type.
