Betty, I have a dog who just turned two and when he gets into something - god knows what - I don't feed him for 12 hours and then just give him some cooked hamburger and rice for a couple of days, depends on what he has thrown up and how often. It's normal for them if they have been vomiting to have specs of blood from irritation. You never know what they get into sometimes even if you keep a watchful eye!
Another remedy is to feed them some yogurt - the live cultures help reestablish the flora in the instestines back to normal or you can buy the powdered format in a health food store.
