I am in agreement with you there, that is indeed deceiptful. While I now
know that Robin's post was referring to people that had claimed to be
certified but weren't, I believe that there is an unfortunately high number
of people that take a rather pessimistic/prejudiced perspective of the
breeders that don't play the game the way that they believe it should be
played, and are automatically suspicious. I had been trying to point out
that *that* kind of thinking is counter-productive! I still hope to state that
assuming the worst until proven otherwise is awfully negative and
possibly arrogant. My point was that there are a lot of people that do
indeed test, but don't necessarily send results to OFA/CERF. Never
mind that I tend to believe the best of people or situations unless given
evidence to the contrary.

I, too, would love to see more people sharing what health testing they
have done - it helps everyone, especially the dogs themselves. If we
know that certain dogs or combinations have produces particular
problems, we can make breeding plans accordingly. I like to claim that
I'm not a gambler, but will gamble if the odds are in MY favor! To do that
with dog breeding we need to have ALL of the data, not just a tidbit here
and there..

cheers,
