> I have another question directed mainly to the PremierCavalier breeders -
as you are so keen on testing and publishing the results are you all doing
MRI scans on your breeding stock to identify potential syringohydromyelia
victims? I don't see it listed on your website.

In 26 years of the 50% or so Cavaliers that I've owned or produced were
tested in some way or other this is what I've heard (and I DO keep in touch
with my buyers): Every single one developed MVD at some point--if they
lived long enough. One was diagnosed with geographic retinal dysplasia.
Two with folds. Four with patellar luxation--one needed surgery. One with
hip dysplasia. No epilepsy and no cataracts. According to statistics more
than 99% of all Cavaliers develop MVD if they live past 10. About 11+%
develop HD. Somewhere between 10 and 30% develop patellar luxation.
According to the research Leanne relayed this morning 7%-9% with cataracts,
slightly fewer with retinal folds and even fewer with geographic retinal
dysplasia.

I've not had one diagnosed with syringohydromyelia. What is the percentage
of Cavaliers that develop syringohydromyelia?
