Hi everyone! As I was looking at my stud contract yesterday it occured to me that a stud contract among Cavalier owners is going to be quite different (duh) and probably not very uniform among the breed as a whole than what I am used to seeing. For example, I am accustomed to seeing requirements of OFA on hips, current CERF, and heart clearance performed by a cardiologist or an ACVIM member, picture and pedigree. I know with the differing levels of murmurs at certain ages in Cavaliers this would be unrealistic as well as the simple fact that everyone does everything a bit differently.
What do you, stud owners, require of the bitch for approval before providing stud services? This is by no means an attempt at a judgement call on anyone's breeding practices. I want to try and get a feel for how things are done in this breed in each aspect. Therefore, private replies are fine.
