Marilyn, I love these too, and have several small ones. I  can't give you
the answer, but there is a UK  antiques website that has a nice and
regularly changing selection (some of which also get auctioned on ebay);
this will link you to their current staffordshire list (not just the

They might also be able to give you some hints and tips on how to recognise
the real thing, they are a bunch of very pleasant people....
