My doggie doors are the old Johnsons, with about a 9 X 12 opening--I guess
it would be the Medium Size as they say they are 8 X 11 1/2--that is close
enough. They are now called the Ultimate Pet Door by Pet Safe. They have
worked really well so far, plus it is fairly simple to buy new flaps and
replace them. My puppies virtually always learn to use them within 3-4
days. I *push* them through the door for a couple of days and usually they
learn to come back in by themselves instead of waiting for me. Once they
start doing that it rarely takes more than a week for them to freely use the
door all day long. My 7 week olds are doing pretty good even though it is
only 20 degrees outside at the warmest point each day (born Nov. 10th so
they are just 7 weeks old).

However, I am building a house starting in May and am looking for
suggestions as to what others thinks are good doors. I will not have any
sliding doors and won't use one that needs a collar to open, nor one that
takes some force with a nose to open because of the puppies. There is
Staywell, Pride, Carlson, Hale, Pet-Dor, Duro-Door, MagnaDor and I'm sure
others. Anyone have experience with any of these?
