We have a dog from each place. Both were required to be chipped as well before they were allowed to get on a plane to come to America. And we have had no problems with the chip except many of the vets and shelters in our part of the country (Colorado) and where we lived before (Virginia) did not have the equipment to read them. My vet now still with his reader can't scan the one I can feel with my fingers.
