I agree with what you say....but.....it's not always possible to get information on dogs in a pedigree. too many breeders here and abroad are closed-mouthed about faults and problems. Consequently, those that want to do the best possible pairings, are left in the dark sometimes about "smoking guns". Breeding cavaliers is very much trial and error when getting started.
