I don't recall that anyone on the list rejected doing all testing.  Those
things that we know exist in our breed we must try to eradicate.  We know
that they exists because we have learned that the incidence of these
afflictions appearing in our breed is comparatively high. Responsible
breeders will test in that case.

However, it seems unnecessary for one to hear about some long-named ailment
and then dash off to their vet to make sure their dog doesn't have it or to
randomly have the vet examine a dog trying to find something wrong or
ensuring that there is nothing wrong.  There are hundreds of afflictions that
a dog can have and be entirely asymtomatic.  If your dog is robust, has a
good appetite, is active, come when he is called, has no strange discharge
from any body opening, has gloss to his coat and sparkle in his eye, why go
hunting for something to be wrong unless you truly feel there is a reason it
might be there.
