Ouch!!! I am a pet owner. I believe I am a responsible person. I never had a pet until I married and my husband indicated an interest in having a dog. That initial interest over twelve years ago has resulted in a houseful of cavaliers, all colors and both genders. I have dealt with hepatic necrotizing syndrome, hypoparathyroidism and the other problems typically seen on this list. I use a large/small animal vet who I believe is the greatest gift my pups could get. (He and his wife have bred Papillons for the last 15 years.) While I could breed, I choose not to, because our current location and physical layout are not condusive to "puppy raising", but that doesn't mean I don't know about canine reproduction or how to assist in whelping.
