Ah, that every breeder should be lucky enough to have a vet as knowledgeable and experienced as yours. Unfortunately, most vets know next to nothing about breeding. Mine is better than most but not as good as I'd wish. Good for you for making the choice not to breed strictly according to your ability to raise a litter. That is also the reason that I no longer breed Goldens. While I could renovate this house to be Cavalier friendly, there just isn't enough room for a larger breed.
