Is it common for Cavaliers to need c-sections for uterine inertia or not
having a large enough opening for a natural birth?

Every single Cavalier I've had that needed a c-section also delivered
litters naturally. In most cases it was a traffic jam that caused the
c-section. Two puppies attempting to come out at the same time. Always
tried to push one back but it never worked. One time I had a bitch who
delivered 2 puppies, then the 3rd one wouldn't come. C-section for other 3
showed the 3rd puppy had died, sack had dried around fetus curling it into a
tight little ball. Mom wasn't capable of delivering both halves at once.
None have needed a c-section for something that would cause me to rethink
another litter. I am sure it happens, but it doesn't seem to be common in
Cavaliers.
