That is the whole thing in a nutshell.  Everyone wants those dog's finished,
even if they are not quite up to caliber.  Finished and finished as fast and
possible--so they can get on to the next one.

Finished if it CAN be finished, not finished because it SHOULD be finished.

There are only two reasons an owner handled dog can't finish in the AKC
somewhat easily:  (1) the dog is not good enough, and (2) the owner-handler
has to compete against well known professional handlers who often win even
when they have poor quality dogs.  Get rid of (2) and the only reason the
dog won't finish is because it is not good enough.

A pro handler CAN finish almost anything.  For the life of me I can't
understand what the satisfaction is in getting a championship on a
dog--knowing a pro handler can finish almost anything!
