Yes, my Chelsea was 10 years old at the time had what they called Bell's
Palsy. She drooled a lot, got food caught in the side of her jaw and
couldn't chew on the left side. My vet started her on prednisone too and
almost like textbook description she started to respond and was almost back
to her old self within 6 to 8 weeks. She holds the left ear a little
different and her eye doesn't blink all the way closed but other than that
she pretty much made a spontaneous recovery. She was walking in circles,
running into walls on the left side and drooling. I just knew something awful
was wrong. My vet did some extra research and felt even if she had something
else happening, we would be treating the same way so I opted to give her the
6 to 8 weeks and see what she did. Make sure they put ophthalmic ointment in
that eye to keep it well lubricated so the cornea will not dry out. Keep me
posted on the situation. If I can be of further help, please do not hesitate
to call me.
