I have used the citronella collar for my dogs. It was recommended by a trainer. It does work. The problem with it is it needs to be refilled frequently, the batteries can run out and it sometimes clogs. However, my dogs definitely responded and it is harmless and I don't have to feel guilty using it. I have one "bad offender" and now, if I just put the collar on her, she quiets down. I never considered debarking and I would definitely try the collar before ever considering to surgically alter the dog.
