Got a question for the group. When should Cavalier eyes be tested for possible blocked tear ducts? I remember someone suggesting that you wait until the puppy is at least a year old because sometimes they outgrow the tearing after teething. Or maybe I read it. I do know one of our Norfolk puppies developed a tearing before she was to go to her new owners so we had her checked and then went to an eye specialist who found a tear duct not completely developed. He fixed it to the tune of the puppy but I am glad we caught it in time. I think the puppy feels better too. I'm just wondering if anyone thinks Cavalier tearing could be hereditary because of malformed or blocked tear ducts. And, how does the list feel about the age or necessity for checking tear ducts. Thanks for your input. Liz Gordon Merrychase
