I know it is a surgical procedure that has to do with scraping or cutting the vocal cords. I have heard many debarked dogs and I think it is very sad to hear them try to bark and all that comes out is an air filled whisp. If you call that normal functions well then we disagree again. I have heard many people at shows walk by crated debarked dogs and make comments like "whats wrong with him" "or he has a sore throat" or something of the like the natural reaction from the common people is that they right away know the dog is not normal. To say a debarked dog is normal and not altered would fall under your category of "just plain ignorant" I will concede maybe there are instances that debarking may be used as a last resort in a situation and everyone has to choose what is right for them. Its not for me. And way too many do it for convenience not as a last resort. Everyone is entitled to opinions. Stop putting words in my mouth or making statements about what I have or have not done, you have no clue. Most people don't care to live in daves world which is fine. . Everyone does not live in Claudias world either. I'm done on this subject if you would care to continue exchanging nasty mail email me privately and I would be glad to oblige but the list shouldn't have to listen to this.
