Hi, Robin,
Just a suggestion......if you are going, stay for the whole show and
watch all of the handlers that you can in all of the groups. Of course
pay particular attention to how the Cavaliers are presented (as it is
unique to the breed if done correctly). But I can say that when I have
the chance I stay for the whole show and watch the groups and BIS; you
can meet wonderful people, learn a lot and absorb many trick of the
trade. I have often had the opportunity to ask judges I really admire
why they picked the dogs that they chose (after their judging assignment
was over and when they, too were watching the groups). There are many
wonderful breeds and lots to enjoy. It can be a great experience. And,
we all still have much to learn; you'd be surprised at how many things I
pick up from those owner handlers and pros who have been around thirty
years and more!
