Yes, and the reason that most states don't allow people to purchase the rabies vaccine and give it themselves is that there is a higher risk of people catching the disease from the vaccine. Most of the diseases that dogs get don't transmit to people, but rabies is the exception. I understand that some states will allow it, but the reason that the others won't is because of it being a human disease as well. Myra
