That puppy mill near you is the stereotypical *awful* place to buy a puppy.
I had one person contact me a year ago who bought a puppy from them--a
tricolor boy. Severe epilepsy, it was dead shortly after it turned one year
old. (Seems like this place has a real problem with epilepsy!) Recently I
got another call from some people whose dog, a blenheim female from the same
puppy mill, had also died--before 2 years of age--she had severe health
problems as well. I got information on both puppies and I'm quite certain
they were both from the same litter!! They had the same mom, dad's names
were letters different, birthdates only 2 weeks apart. I saw both
*registrations* (and I use that term VERY loosely). Not sure if that puppy
mill just has very poor recordkeeping or is outright lying because I'm
fairly certain a bitch can't have two separate litters by two separate sires
only two weeks apart!! <G> The one registration/pedigree clearly had
written on it: 3 tricolor males, 2 blenheim females--hence I feel they were
from one and the same litter.

I think most people are much more careful about the condition and background
of their car than they are of a puppy--despite the fact that the car will
never feel any pain due to poor assembly problems.
