But: When I see the occasional post to this list asking someone to check out
a Cav in a petshop - **What does checking it out actually mean???**
********************
Actually other than being nosey I am not sure what good it does to try and
pretend to be interested in a puppy to ferret out information. Other than one
isolated case that I heard of 15 years ago all puppies in pet stores have had
nothing to do with being CKCSC, USA registered. It is not against any rule in
any other registry to supply puppies into pet stores here in the US. My way
of thinking to show ANY kind of interest towards a puppy in a pet store is
defeating the purpose - the pet store owner/manager thinks they have a hot
item. IF you do want to get information just to get the information - make
sure you let the pet store people know in no uncertain terms why you are NOT
buying a puppy from them when you leave - bogus registry, no clear testing,
puppy mill parents - you name it. Speak clearly and loudly :o) And throw
out the added bonus - that as long as they supply live animals in their store
you will shop elsewhere and will tell all your friends at the dog club
meeting (fabricate here :o) to do the same.
