<During the last couple of months he has decided his mission in life is to
chew all the appendages off his furry toys. So far I have had to throw away
4 large furry toys. These were toys that had survived several years with my
boxers. Is this a hormone thing?

This is funny, Susan. I have a 9 mo. old Japanese Chin puppy, Nick. He
chews toy after toy that Madeleine played with for years and never
destroyed! I have quit letting him have rubbery toys, as he completely
destroys them and I'm afraid he might swallow a piece. He loves rope toys,
too, but most surprising to me is that he really loves Nylabones! Just
plain Nylabones. I had about six that Madeleine really never touched. I've
already had to throw one away, because he chewed down to the part where you
are supposed to take them away.

He makes a game out of taking his toys outside, which is hilarious. We go
outside first thing in the morning, and he races to the middle of the yard.
Before he potties, he runs back in the house, down the hall to the bedroom,
picks out a stuffed toy, and races back in the yard with it and drops it.
*Then* he does his morning potty. He is absolutely the most playful puppy
I've ever known. I have wondered if it's a "male" thing since my other dogs
have been females. I really think they are probably just all individual
with their own personalities. His is delightful.
