Well Robin.......for a newbie you seem to already have a "feel" for the difference in quality between the two show venues. The AKC ring seems to get the "second string" from alot of breeders and the more typey ones are shown in CKCSC shows. Although......every CKCSC show has exhibits that should be a pet in someone's home. Probably due to the fact that the CKCSC shows are judged by breed specialists and AKC shows are judged by many inexperienced, uneducated people. I have personally been in the presence of breeders that evaluated their litters as to CKCSC potential and AKC potential. Personally, if a dog isn't good enough for the breed specialist judges......I wouldn't show it in AKC either.
And this is not an invitation to open up the CKCSC vs. AKC debate.
