That is correct.  I contacted the AKC a year ago or so and asked about the
spaniel tests (I have done hunting tests with my Brittany).  They said it
would be up to the parent club to request inclusion for the Cavaliers, as the
Rottweilers and Samoyeds have done with herding tests.

I am not a member of the AKC Club (have been trying to get an application
for a couple years and can't even get that!!) so didn't go any further with
it.
